Rafael Carvalho put on an impressive fight against Melvin Manhoef to retain his middleweight title at Bellator 176 in Torino, Italy over the weekend.
One thing we learned is don’t mess with Rafael Carvalho or get knocked out…
Talk about one baddass motha—-, Rafael Carvalho is that MMA fighter who wasted no time in an insane fourth round head kick knockout of Melvin Manhoef.
Carvalho increased his pressure and proved why he is at the top of Bellator’s 185 division. Before the fight Manhoef weighed in saying:
“I am so ready to get what belongs to me! Saturday #SomeoneIsHoldingMyBelt!”
Yeah, that didn’t happen. NOT even close, here is how the fight played out according to reports:
Rafael Carvalho vs Melvin Manhoef was an intense fight when pressed forward behind a jab from Manhoef and in a split thing the whole thing was over. Carvalho was ready to takedown Manhoef. Moments latter Melvin found himself pressed against the cage, so Carvalho threw a knee in the clinch, but Manhoef caught the strike. Carvalho got tired of wasting time so he secured a takedown with a quick kick to the head. Manhoef was taken down right away.
The KO was insanely fast that you almost don’t see it.
Watch how fast Rafael takes out Melvin:
