LatinoAthletes.com has learned that Yoenis Cespedes will stay with the New York Mets for another four years.

The Met made sure to handle one of their highest priorities during the off-season. They wanted to bring Yoenis Cespedes, since he was one of the main reasons they made it to the World Series Championship in 2015.
Cespedes was a key player during the playoffs.

In 2015, the Mets re-signed him for a 3 year $75 million contract. Yoenis contract had given him an option to opt out after the first year, but they didn’t want to lose him. Unfortunately he did opt-out to become a free agent.

Therefore, the NY Mets re-signed the 31-year-old to a 4-year contract worth $110 million. Though, the Mets made sure not to sign him for more than 4 years.

They wanted to hold onto having the leverage since he’s an aging player.

Yoenis stats are as follows; Runs batted in‎: ‎453, Batting average‎: ‎272, Home runs‎: ‎137.
