Julio Cesar Chavez Sr is going hard trying to promote that his son Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. has another fight on the way. This time Chavez Jr will fight former 4-time world title challenger Martin Murray.
Read on and get all the details on the possible Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. vs Martin Murray fight…
LatinoAthlete.com has just heard that Julio Cesar Chavez Jr (50-3-1, 32 KOs) is ready to get back in the ring after Canelo Alvarez beat him like a human punching bag.
The fight between Julio Cesar Chavez Jr and Martin Murray (35-4-1, 16 KOs) is said to be happening sometime in October in Las Vegas, Nevada or Texas. Word is Murray is interested in taking the fight.
As for, the weight class for the Chavez Jr. vs. Murray fight would be in the super middleweight division. We all learned that Chavez Jr. can’t fight below 168 lbs. Getting down to the 164.5-pound catch-weight for his fight against Saul Canelo Alvarez just drained him.
Chavez Sr. posted on his Twitter:
“October LA Vegas Texas Boxing @jcchavezjr vs @martin_murray_boxing waiting! Day! Mexico vs. Ingaterra.”
Chavez Sr was trying to stir up an interest from fans who love Chavez Jr. and his tweet did just that. Chavez Sr. nabbed the attention of Murray, 34.
The fringe level world class fighter replied:
“Octobers good for me. Get your team to contact mine.”
This will be interesting to see, since Chavez Jr lost his status as a world level fighter to us. If these two boxers go to war in the ring, we feel that Murray will win hands down. This fight fells lopsided like it did with Canelo. We have a strange feeling that if Chavez Jr doesn’t knocked out, then it will go 12 round unanimous decision in favor of Murray.
What is interesting is that Julio Chavez Jr still wants to make a name for himself in the boxing world. We just don’t think fighting Murray is the right choice in October.
Here are Martin Murray’s previous fights in detail:
- Murray has fought for world titles 4 times during his 10-year pro career. Check the results:
- Murray vs. Felix Sturm on December 2, 2011. Results: 12 round draw
- Murray vs. Sergio Martinez on April 27, 2013. Results: Murray loses by a 12 round unanimous decision.
- Murray vs. Gennady Golovkin on February 21, 2015. Results: Murray loses by an 11th round technical knockout.
- Murray vs. Arthur Abraham on November 21, 2015. Results: Murray loses by a 12-round split decision.
Do you thin Julio stand a chance?
