Brazilian MMA fighter Anderson Silva was bobbing and weaving as questions kept getting thrown his way about his future in the UFC.

The former UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva, was quick witted with his response and turned the Q&A in his favor. Read more on what Anderson Silva said… got word via Anderson Silva who spoke to MM Junkie about his viability at age 41.

Anderson Silva (33-8 MMA, 16-4 UFC) responded with a quick answer, saying:

“It’s a good question…”

…Then changed the focus to question about his fight Saturday against Derek Brunson (16-4 MMA, 7-2 UFC) at UFC 208.

A good spirited Silva said his pay-per-view fight Saturday against Brunson at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y., will demonstrate his passion for fighting. He added that it’s not about the win or the title shot, it’s about his passion and love of the sport.

Silva explained:

“For a long time, I had the belt, and I lost time with my family, and now I just keep my focus on fighting, (then) go home and stay with my family.”

Which brings us to what he wants most, an opportunity a rematch against the current champ Michael Bisping (30-7 MMA, 20-7 UFC). There’s no way the 6′ 2″ MMA star would turn it down. A redemption fight would be the perfect segue to calling it a career.

Anderson Silva explains his mindset:

“I think I’m waiting for this fight on Saturday, and I’ll go back home with my family and wait for the next challenge.”

Once again, he was asked about Saturday’s fight carrying any assurances his next challenge would be a title shot, he ducked and weaved with this answer:

“One more good question, but this is for Dana. In my opinion, I proved for a long time how much I give my heart in my time with the UFC. Why not give me the opportunity to fight for the belt again? I don’t know. But this is a good question for Dana, not for me.”

We will see if any of this plays out, for now Silva is fighting Derek Brunson on Saturday.
