Quarterback Matt Moore

While the Miami Dolphins prepare for their first playoff game since 2008, which quarterback will start? Will Matt Moore start for the Dolphins or will Ryan Tannehill return from the IR?

Coach Adam Gase said Monday that he was not sure if Ryan Tannehill will return after suffering a sprained ACL and MCL in his left knee. Read more about Matt Moore vs Ryan Tannehill starting for the Dolphins…

If that is the case, then which QB will start for this weekend’s playoff game against the Pittsburgh Steelers?

However, coach Adam Gase isn’t ruling out Ryan Tannehill just yet, said during his news conference:

“I don’t want to say yes or no. The guy, as you guys all know, is a freak of nature. … His body is unique, and the way he heals is the same way. We’ll kind of take it one step at a time.”

While Tannehill has been out, Ten-year veteran Matt Moore has gone 2-1 filling in as quarterback. He has thrown for 721 yards with eight touchdowns, three interceptions and a 105.6 quarterback rating. Moore has proved himself, but Moore has a completely different skills and styles of play. Which means that if Gaze goes with Matt, then Miami’s offensive game plan could seriously be affected. Moreover, Tannehill remains sidelined, this will give Moore his first career playoff start.

For now, Matt Moore must wait on coach Adam Gase decision. The Dolphins coach wants to talk with team medical personnel to be sure. Gase doesn’t jeopardize Tannehill’s long-term health.

So, what does this mean for Matt Moore?

Gase explains:

“I need to know what his movement skills are, where we are as far as the structure of his knee and things like that.”

We hope the Matt Moore gets his chance to shine this Sunday against the Pittsburgh Steelers. We just feel if Tannehill plays that could jeopardize his career more than being sidelined.

The Dolphins still uncertain if Ryan Tannell or Matt Moore will start.

What do you think?
